Fernie Opening Day
Fun at Ferine.
Chris and I went to Fernie on Friday night, Coming into town at 7 O-clock, we found that watching Scrubs on the ipod is nearly as much fun as on the big screen, especially when you can run the sound through the truck speakers. When we finally got to the hill , we were all ready for the hot tub, but the cute short Aussie behind the counter informed us that the hotels hot tub was missing parts that were coming in from Calgary. We told her that we would have gladly brought them along had we known. So we got up to the room, an through back to what I would can only describe as late 80's dinning room. Beds harder than the cement ones I slept on in Russia, and if you wanted a shower curton that was extra, But the flies were free. Condering the price was $69 for hotel and lift ticket & the ticked by it self was $69 we could not complain much. She Suggested that we try one of the other hotels, so we went for a drive and found a hot tub with the door open , we went back to our room got changed and headed down. When we got down to the tub, the door was locked. Then we peaked in the window, and saw that there was a couple in the tub doing ... well what couples do. So we were off to the next tub, after driving around the hill we ended up at an apartment complex. Chris hopped the fence, and opened the door. I went in side and got changed when I came out of the bathroom there were 2 guys there with Chris, they were security. The first thing that went thru my head was , I could bail on Chris but these guys were small and we could take em. The main guard, asked if we got there. Chris said we did. The guard said , well can you do me a favour put the cover on when your done. Once they were gone we had a good laugh.
We were the first in line at 8 for tickets after we got them and paid $9 bucks for an Egg Mc muffin. We got in line until 9 when the lifts started up. The snow was great, a little krusty from being wind blown, but when you break the surface then it was arm deep. I got 10 runs in and we where on every bowl of the hill.

Nothing Special
Abby and I have swimming lessons tonight. Should be fun. Abby loves the water and is a pretty good swimmer for only being 2. After lessons I have to go check out a X-mas tree at the Bay the one we have is to short for the house and looks funny. So Nicole has been on the hunt for a bigger one, we bought one at Costco earlier in the week, but had to return it do to it not lighting up on one half. She says the one at the Bay is just as nice, and it has pine cones, ummmmm pine cones, So we will check it out tonight.
Right now it is snowing out side, which is a good thing, I want it to dump on the mountains , Can't wait to go boarding Friday. Nobody seem to want to go but me. But hell I am going to have a good time.
We got a credit at the furnature place for the crappy table and chairs we were sold, so now we have to find a new one.
The plans to go to Manatoba for the week end got squashed. Sheryl and Tricia's Grandfather passed away, probably not the best time for a visit.

Oh well what can I say I am a lazy bastard, I have not updated this thing in months so I think maybe it is about time.
Last week was abbey's birthday, she was spoiled as usual. The more scary thing is my Birthday is comings up. The big 30 that is not quite as scary as I thought I keep telling myself that 30 is the new 20, even if that is complete crap. If the longevity in the family is an indicator then I am 1/3 done and it was pretty good.
Maybe I will use this more as an mass email, Just to keep y'all updated with the exciting World of Wiens. I should open up an amusement park with that name. It would be awesome, the kids would have to try to escape from a cubicle. And we all know that the only way to escape the cubicle is to call in sick, fake an injury, or tell people you have cancer.

I got an Email from my Buddy Eva yesterday day in Perth, it is always great to talk to her. She sent me the best postcard from Hawaii, it was of a surfer on the beach, al'a 50's style. Makes me so jealous of Ryan ( me cousin) surfing in OZ, ohhh you had better stay there for a while I want to come an surf so bad.
On the bright side Sunshine is opening on Friday. So I took the day off I have been waiting a long time, I can't wait to get out on the hill, even if I have to go by myself.
